Chapter 33 teaches us the truths of the consequences of sin and our great need for God’s presence in our journey through life. In this chapter, Yahweh tells Moses that He will send His angel to lead Moses and the children of Israel to the promised land. He will not go with the Israelites because they will provoke His anger, and He will destroy them. Moses pleads with God to go with them to the promised land. The people are to be identified by the reality of God’s presence being among them.
